Help & Advice
We bet Cardiff wasn’t at the top of your list for a stag do! Well, we can give you a number of reasons why it is now one of the most popular stag weekend destinations. For a start the Welsh Capital city has bundles of things to offer for a weekend break with the lads.
If you are sports mad, you will be in your element here, your first port of call will have to be the impressive 74,500 seated millennium stadium, which has rapidly become one of the city’s most popular attractions boasting over 1.3 million visitors each year.
For some of you the idea of Cardiff may trigger images of Charlotte Church in her teens falling out of bars drunk; Cardiff has so much more to offer, it has a thriving nightlife with a diverse mix of things to do from traditional welsh pubs, live music venues and clubs to trendy bars over on the Cardiff Quayside.
It is easy to get to Cardiff:
Flying: The main airport is Cardiff International Airport, the following airlines fly there: BA, Flybe and Thomsonfly.
Trains: Cardiff Central is the main train station and close to the city centre, the First Great Western Train line operates services into the station with fast trains from London Paddington taking just 2 hours.
Coach: The National Express Coach service operates from all over the UK into Cardiff.
Car: If travelling by car from London or the South East it can take approximately 3 hours and is reached by taking the M4 motorway, from the North of England the route is via the M50 and M5.
You may want to start your weekend taking in the sights of the city and sampling what the drinking establishments have to offer, so we suggest 'killing two birds with one stone' as they say, grab a pint at the Goat Major Pub (High Street, Cardiff, CF10 1PU). This is directly opposite Cardiff castle, so prime position if you fancy visiting the city’s main cultural attraction or why not look at it with a pint in hand from opposite instead it is up to you?
Once you have done the cultural Cardiff bit, you may want to do something a bit livelier. There are lots of exciting activities you can book to do in the city, The Stag Company offer a range of adrenalin fuelled things to do including:
