Help & Advice
Choosing where to go and when for your hen weekend can be challenging, it needn’t be, we have enlisted the help of expert hen party planners Hen Heaven for their pick of where to travel to:
If you are looking for a hen party destination for the start of the year we suggest visiting the delightful city of Bath. In the winter time you can experience the beauty of the city without the summer crowds. Visit the famous Thermae Bath Spa and indulge in Britain’s only warm natural waters, bathe in the warm rooftop pool and book one of the relaxing spa treatments - a healthy way to start your January.
For the sun worshippers among you, you cannot go wrong with a hen weekend in the Canaries. We suggest heading over to the island of Tenerife; here you can guarantee winter sun. February sees temperatures reaching highs of 70 degrees with 9 hours of sunshine. If a vibrant bar and club scene is on your agenda the party resort of Playa De Las Americas will not disappoint!
It’s a necessity to visit Dublin during the superb St Patricks Day celebrations (14th-18th March). An extremely popular time to travel to Ireland but well worth it, here you will experience the 4 day party which includes; crafts, comedy, funfairs, music, street performers and the famous peoples parade . This is a particularly busy time, so booking early to avoid disappointment is also a necessity.
The cosmopolitan Dutch city of Amsterdam is a brilliant location for a hen weekend in Spring. The local tourist attractions re-open for the season and tulips are in full bloom. April is the month of special celebrations for Queen’s Day when the locals arrange all sorts of colourful events. You must visit the diverse locations of the Red Light District and Ann Franks House.
The Spanish city of Barcelona really does tick a lot of boxes as far as weekend destinations go, fantastic weather, amazing food and drink, miles of beaches, stunning architecture and incredible nightclubs. Visit here in May when temperatures reach a warm 60 degrees - time it right and you could be there for the Primervera Sound Festival.
The ultimate hen destination Las Vegas is by far the most lavish of locations with: first class clubs, spas, casinos and stunning sights. Las Vegas is a fantastic place to visit at any time of the year but we suggest visiting in June. Make it a high priority to secure your name on the guest list of the pool party at Rehab at The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino - a party that shouldn’t be missed!
Marbella experiences warm weather all year round with particularly hot summers. Visit in the peak party season month of July for temperatures of up to 29°C. Hen Heaven sends over 10,000 hen groups to Marbella each summer to revel in the atmosphere and party like VIPs.
It’s not a necessity to have to have a hen weekend abroad; there are some fantastic British seaside resorts which have lots to offer. Try the South Coast’s answer to London by the Sea - Brighton, visit in August when you can enjoy the beach and enjoy the festivities of Gay Pride.
The Balearic party Isle of Ibiza is home to some of the globes best clubs and party nights. The season begins with the opening parties at the end of May and finishes at the end of September. September is an ideal time to travel to experience the best parties and still get a tan in time for the wedding.
For October our pick is the innovative city of Manchester, do not be mistaken into thinking that it’s all about the football here, not surprisingly, with such a sporting, cultural and musical heritage, Manchester offers a multitude of hot-spots for hen weekends and should rate highly in your considered destinations. The city is a hub of events and festivals; October hosts the Food and Drink Festival.
Fast becoming the party capital of the North, Newcastle is a popular hen and stag hotspot, take a trip in November and hit the bars and clubs in the Bigg Market area and the Quayside.
Scotland’s capital city Edinburgh is particularly beautiful in the winter months at time when it exudes character and charm. If planning a hen weekend for December why not book to visit during New Year and experience Edinburgh’s World class celebration which is known as Hogmanay (this dates back to pagan times). Expect impressive fire and lightshows , street parties and music stages with the powerful illuminated backdrop of Edinburgh’s Castle - magical!
